In the Niagara region of Ontario, Canada, is where the family farm is located. Niagara-on-the-Lake is part of an agricultural area called the Green Belt, which is known for its fruit and wine production. My great grandparents, like many others, were refugees who settled here in Canada after the war. My grandfather turned a small farm into a thriving business, and now three generations of my family have been raised there. This is a personal document, exploring my relationship to the farm and the surrounding area. Having grown up in several different cities, and far from the countryside towns and farming communities, my upbringing was very different from this place where I spent holidays and attended family gatherings throughout the years. This is a look at the familiar and the unfamiliar through the same lens.
